Did anyone else love malt-o-meal like it was candy when they were younger? Because I did. If my mama asked me what I wanted her to make me for breakfast, I would either tell her

That warm, creamy texture makes me all cuddly and fuzzy inside.
Even now, I find myself craving a bowl of creamy hot cereal when I wake up to a cold, rainy morning or when I’m feeling particularly under the weather. It is the ultimate comfort food for me.
Comfort foods are actually a thing I’m working on, because it seems like depending on foods for comfort can be a little bit dangerous, but in the meantime I suppose that this comfort food is not the worst for my health.
Unfortunately, I never ever remember to grab some malt-o-meal while I’m at the store, so over time I have found a simple, delicious, and accidentally gluten-free replacement for it using only one ingredient, oats, to replace the original wheat substance.
