Well, I’m finally back from vacation.
Alright, so I actually came back on the 10th, and I did intend to write a post that day, but people. I got sick. Stuffy nose, congested head, sore throat, aching stomach, that whole thing. I haven’t been sick in about a year, so when I got sick right before my trip I decided to fight and pretend that I wasn’t actually sick, which eventually culminated in my leaving work early today to rest from the sickness that I have been ignoring. Oof. I’m glad we covered that but now let’s get to the good stuff like traveling and food.
Right now I am sitting outside gate B6, waiting to board my flight to Charlotte, North Carolina. I will be going down there with my bestest friend Allison. She is in school right now for air traffic control and is considering working at the tower in Charlotte, so we are staying with one of her mama’s friends for a week to check out the area.
Why am I going?
This last Tuesday was my mom’s 38th birthday (Yes, I’m young, but she had me young as well) and I got to bake her cake for it!
I often read about bloggers whose families and friends are always asking them to bake for special occasions for them, and I literally cannot relate at all. There are two reasons for this:

I have not felt up to posting about how delicious and wonderful and magnificent these cookies are for the last couple of days, so I have waited.
